SweisKloss Life

We have always been about having great people who are not only integral to our creative team but become a part of our SweisKloss family. It’s a place where core values come together, and genuine friendships are formed.

Work-life balance is simply a way of everyday life, which means a mindful approach to work flexibility and sustainably commuting. Well-being is the norm, not the exception.

Our group works hard on the design + construction of large-scale projects and has fun while doing it. We enjoy the times we get together outside of the office and job sites, whether it be for an impromptu lunch, happy hour, or the annual company cookout and holiday parties at Abeer and Jeff’s home.

We believe in a support system that nurtures professional and personal growth and creating a friendly, healthy environment that extends beyond the workplace.

The SweisKloss office is located four blocks from the ocean and a block from 3rd Street Promenade in beautiful downtown Santa Monica.

Our company environment is very casual. We’re a team and also friends, relating on a professional and personal level. We’re supportive of one another and ready to jump in to help each other.

I’ve always liked being an electrician, but I am jazzed about being a foreman. I get to be completely involved with an entire project from the ground up to the roof. Seeing the amount of work that goes into the design makes me want to do my best to deliver the best.

The CANstruction event where we built a structure out of cans. A true team effort! After, the participants’ structures were broken down and donated to Meals on Wheels West.

“Dog days” of SweisKloss. If you come to the office on any given day, you may be greeted by one of our four-legged SK family members—Tin, Hazel, Maddy, Loki, Buggy, and Ricky. Plan on ball throwing and belly rubbing.

Our version of a pool party!

SweisKloss has the type of work I do. First off, single family residential is my preferred building type, and I get to design, draw, and often take these projects through to fruition. That’s the most satisfying part.

Donating our old materials samples to reDiscover to reuse in projects for their children’s workshops and camps.

SweisKloss strives to have the best practices in place with projects and other aspects of the company. I particularly like that this is a certified green business and appreciate the efforts made when it comes to awareness, staying informed, and implementation.
— Aimee Bracken, Office + Marketing Manager + EA

We love our staff lunches, birthdays, happy hours, annual parties…and really any time to hang out together.

The work and social culture of the office are not far isolated or independent. The casual atmosphere seems to make for a constant blending of work/life/family juggling and chatting. Family members and dogs are always welcome to join social events or even pop by the office and often do. Many staff members look forward to organizing happy hours or occasional meetups outside of work, and friendships are formed.
